These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the inis.run API, daemon, CLI, SDKs, MCP server, and web interface (collectively, the “Service”), provided by inis.run (“we”, “us”, or “our”), an independently owned business established and operating in Ireland. Our full legal and registration details are available on request from legal@inis.run.
By creating an account, issuing API tokens, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity (“Customer”, “you”), you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.
The Service is intended for business and professional use. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to form a binding contract to use it. If you nonetheless use the Service as a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits statutory consumer rights that cannot be limited by contract — see Sections 6 and 13.
inis.run provides on-demand, hardware-isolated sandboxes over an API. Each session runs in its own single-tenant virtual machine. A session you destroy has its memory and disk deleted. A session that idles out, or reaches its maximum lifetime, is paused instead: its state is preserved — encrypted, in the EU — until you resume it, delete it, or its paused-retention window expires, at which point it is destroyed. State you explicitly checkpoint or publish as a template has its own retention lifecycle, described in our Privacy Policy.
Strong isolation reduces risk; it does not eliminate it, and we do not represent that the Service is fit for every compliance or security requirement you may have. You are responsible for assessing whether the Service meets your own regulatory and security obligations, and for not placing data in a session beyond what you are comfortable processing under these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the security of your API tokens and account credentials, and for all activity that occurs under them. Notify us promptly at security@inis.run if you believe a token or credential has been compromised.
“Customer Content” means the code, data, files, and other material you or your users submit to, or generate through, a session, checkpoint, or template. You retain all rights to Customer Content. You are solely responsible for having the rights to it and for it being lawful, and for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose — a session is not a backup service, and we are not obligated to retain Customer Content beyond what our Privacy Policy describes, or beyond a checkpoint or template you have explicitly asked us to keep.
You grant us a limited license to host, run, transmit, and store Customer Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use Customer Content to train models or for any purpose beyond operating the Service you asked for.
We execute arbitrary, often AI-generated code on your behalf, so this is the clause that matters most. You must not use the Service, and must not permit any user or process acting on your behalf to use the Service, to:
This list illustrates the kind of conduct that is prohibited; it is not exhaustive. See Section 5 for what happens when we detect a violation.
Where we reasonably believe an account is violating Section 4, poses a security risk to the Service or to other customers, or is the subject of a valid legal demand, we may suspend or terminate that account, revoke its API tokens, and destroy its active sessions immediately and without prior notice. We will tell you what happened and why as soon as we reasonably can afterward, except where law or an ongoing investigation prevents it.
Outside of that, either you or we may terminate these Terms for convenience with 30 days’ written notice, or for a material breach that remains uncured 30 days after written notice of it. If your balance reaches zero, new sessions are refused until you top up; we do not extend credit or invoice in arrears.
On termination for any reason: your access ends, active sessions are destroyed, any fees accrued before termination remain due, any unused prepaid credit is forfeited (see Section 6), and unsaved session state is deleted per Section 2. Checkpoints and templates you have saved are handled per the retention terms in our Privacy Policy until you delete them or your account is closed.
inis.run operates on a prepaid credit model:
Prepaid credit is non-refundable. If you close your account, any unused balance is forfeited — we do not refund it, except where the law requires us to.
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a top-up within 14 days of making it. Where that right applies, we will refund the unused portion of that top-up on written notice (see Section 14); credit you have already spent on usage is not refundable, because the corresponding service has already been performed with your agreement.
We are in active early development and do not offer an SLA — no promised uptime percentage and no service credits for downtime, on any tier. We work to keep the Service reliable and will publish an SLA here if and when we commit to one.
inis.run is in active early development. Features, APIs, pricing, and default resource limits may change, including in breaking ways, as we learn. We will use reasonable efforts to flag breaking API changes in advance, but during this period you should not treat any part of the Service as a stable, long-term platform commitment. This is separate from Section 9’s general warranty disclaimer, which applies at all times, including after general availability.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE AGAINST EVERY POSSIBLE THREAT — ISOLATION AND EGRESS CONTROLS REDUCE RISK, THEY DO NOT GUARANTEE AN OUTCOME.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
EACH PARTY’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD OR FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE.
If a third party brings a claim against us because of something you did with the Service — your Customer Content, a use of the Service that broke these Terms or the law, or something your own end users or customers are unhappy about in connection with your use of the Service — you will step in: defend us against it, and cover the resulting damages, costs, and reasonable legal fees. We’ll tell you promptly if a claim like this comes in, and we may join the defense ourselves, at our own cost, rather than leave it entirely to you.
You represent that you are not located in a territory subject to comprehensive sanctions and are not listed on, or majority-owned by anyone listed on, an applicable EU, UN, Irish, UK, or US sanctions list. You must not use the Service in violation of applicable export-control or sanctions laws, or for prohibited end-uses under those laws, including the design, development, or production of weapons.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For a material change, we will notify you by email or an in-product notice at least 30 days before it takes effect; non-material changes (clarifications, typo fixes) take effect on posting. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not agree, stop using the Service before the effective date.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and each party submits to that jurisdiction. There is deliberately no arbitration clause — disputes go before Irish courts, in the same jurisdiction where we are established. Your data is processed and stored in the EU; our Privacy Policy names the current locations. If mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you rights this section cannot take away, those rights are unaffected.
We give notices under these Terms by email to the address on your account or by in-product notice, and they are deemed given when sent. Legal notices to us must be sent to legal@inis.run. Reports of abuse or illegal content go to abuse@inis.run — that address is also our single point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act for member-state authorities, the European Commission, the European Board for Digital Services, and recipients of the Service. You can contact it in English.
